A Couple of Creative Weirdos

LILY EMERSON is a multi-faceted performer, producer, collaborator, and all-around creative weirdo. Lily is the co-creator of Adventure Sandwich, an ongoing series of family-friendly videos, songs, live performances, and events. She previously served as Artistic Director of Opera-Matic NFP, an arts organization that produces participatory experiences in the park, and as Founder and Director of Lucid Street Theatre, a performance collective that created original works from 2007-2011. She has performed throughout the US, France, Belarus, the Czech Republic, and the UK. Lily can currently be found performing around the world in Manual Cinema’s acclaimed Leonardo! A Wonderful Show About a Terrible Monster. She can also sometimes be found improvising as her alter-ego Lily Night, co-host of Mr. & Mrs. Wednesday-Night. She has been recognized with various awards and residencies, including Chicago’s Department of Cultural Affairs and Special Events Individual Artists Program, the Lisa Dershin LinkUP Residency, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum's Artist in Residence, and the Chicago Digital Media Production Fund.

CHARLIE MALAVE AKA Charlie Universe AKA Charlie Wednesday is a musician, multi-instrumentalist, music producer, performing artist and video maker whose body of work has produced an array of unique instruments, compositions, music videos, and ensemble theatre productions. He’s kind of like a creative Swiss Army knife—skilled in a variety of media and frequently called upon to solve problems that arise in artistic productions of all kinds. A well-trained multi-instrumentalist, he’s performed with and composed for a variety of bands and theatrical productions. His work with Mucca Pazza and Schwinntonation has been featured on NPR’s Tiny Desk and The TakeAway, respectively. In addition to playing guitar and serving as Artistic Director of Mucca Pazza, he is co-creator of Adventure Sandwich (a cartoon-ish cardboard-based classic kid's show), and as Charlie Wednesday is the bandleader and co-host of Mr. and Mrs. Wednesday-Night (a mostly-improvised fever dream of music and variety).
